Winter Guards
After ten years of existence, Apex World Guard will not be taking the floor in 2009. “It was a difficult decision, but one that we made as an organization and family, prior to taking the floor in 2008” said Stephen Keiser, Director of the Apex World Guard. Apex's 2008 production, “Everything Will Be All Right” served as a celebration of the groups ten years together featuring all veteran members of the guard, many of which have been involved with Apex for all 10 seasons.
Apex began performing in 1999 in Independent A class. After achieving semi-finalist status for the first two years, Apex became an Independent A finalist in 2001 with the “In The Musicals” production and achieved bronze medal status in 2002 with their “In The Name of the Father” show (voted "Fan Favorite" by Field & Floor). After achieving Independent Open finalist status in 2004, Apex went on to compete in World Class for 4 seasons, 2005-2008.
“Apex has strived to create a tradition of offering fresh programming on the competition floor while giving our performers the best possible marching experience,” says Keiser. "It has always been more than just a colorguard to us, it has been a family that works together to make something great.”
